Taking the game to Cali!
They call it "sunny California", but I'm still waiting to see the warm sun haha.
This past week and the next I am competing in Beaumont, California. My mom was a champ and flew out to caddy for me for in both events. (Although she may have regretted it because she spent the next two weeks in freezing temps, while the weather changed to 70º back in Georgia lol)
I played at a course called Tukwet Canyon, and they have two 18-hole courses, Champions and Legends. During the first week (march 1-3) I played the Champions course. And although the wether was cold, it was fun to play golf while surrounded by snowy mountains!
The first day of this tournament ended up getting scratched due to weather. And believe it or not, it wasn’t just rain that caused a problem. It was snow! So if anyone ever tells you that they don’t get snow in Southern California, don’t believe them haha. I struggled with my game a little bit the next two days, and I ended up finishing in the middle of the pack. A lot of positives take aways were still made, and honestly just a few birdies were all that I was missing.
The highlight of the first week came at the end when my mom and I were able to meet up with some cousins who live out in San Diego. It is always such a joy to connect and stay in touch with family that we don’t get to see very often.
And now that this first tourney is over, time to rest, regroup, and get ready to play the Legends!
