New Year, New Everything

As some may already know, my plan was to turn pro at the start of 2023. Now, my original roadmap to how the whole process would look is as follows:

  1. Move back home to Atlanta with my parents.

  2. Play primarily on a mini tour that was located in Florida, and occasionally on two other mini tours located around the US.

  3. Sign up for Qualifying School in August.

  4. Qualify for all 3 stages and start playing on the LPGA tour in 2024.

Simple enough, right? (not really, but at least I had an outline of the roadmap.)

Surprise! That roadmap didn't make it past January 1st.

At the start of the year, the mini-tour on the east coast announced that it was shutting down operation indefinitely. Bad news.

This left me only two options to play competitive golf and get ready for Q-school. The Cactus Tour and the Women's All-Pro Tour (WAPT). Now, the Cactus Tour is based out of Arizona, and the WAPT is played primarily out of Texas and a few neighboring states. And I had moved back to Atlanta. Great. Now what?

Well, let's just say God always has the better roadmap for my life.

Quick back story: from May-November of 2022, I served as an assistant pro at a golf course called Lake Toxaway. Additionally, one of my many blessings from that job was my roommate, Lexy. The country club paired us up to live together, so the first day we ever met each other was literally on the day we were moving into our home for the season. And what a blessing that I instantly knew I had met a forever best friend.

Now, back to the roadmaps. Why bring up Lake Toxaway and Lexy? Well, how convenient would it be if when the season ended at Lake Toxaway, Lexy took a job out in Pheonix for the winter season? And wouldn't it be nice if that amazing girl that I loved living with also happened to be living in an apartment with a spare bedroom?

Spoiler alert, it did turn out to be convenient and nice! I called Lexy and the arrangements were made.

I was out of town for the week of New Year's, and didn't get back to my home in Atlanta until Sunday, January 8th. The Cactus tour had a tournament the following week. So, naturally, I pulled out the boxes I had just finished emptying, spent the next 3 days packing. On Thursday, I began driving across the country. (I also want to give honorable mention to my beautiful mother who was with me for the 2-day journey. Thanks mom!)

And with that said, welcome to the start of my journey to living out my dream! I've now lived in Arizona for almost 3 weeks, and am absolutely loving it. I will continue to get caught up on posts and update everyone on the results of each event. But for now, I will end this post here. And please enjoy photos from some of my favorite memories in Scottsdale so far!

Thank you for the continued support from everyone. It means the world!!
