Milestone Moment!!!

There is a bit of an exciting ending to this tourney, so this blog is going to sound a little more like a story than some of the others. Apologies in advance!

This week I played the second tournament at Tukwet Canyon. We played the Legends course and trusty mom was on the bag again.

I was a touch nervous at the start of the tournament because I didn’t feel like I had the best practice round. My swing felt a bit off, and the weather didn’t allow for me to practice on the range after my practice round. However, I battled the nerves by reminding myself that God is in control and I can still have fun.

The first day was ok. I played with some really sweet girls and I had an overall strong round. A few bogies slipped in at the end of the round to finish +2, but I was optimistic because I knew I could easily fix the bogies going forward.

Second day was an absolute blast. Probably the best day of my entire two weeks in Cali. It was a good day of golf, but, more importantly, I made another really good friend on tour! I got paired with a girl named Mackenzie and we instantly hit it off. To make things even better, we found out that we live not even 10 minutes apart from each other back in Scottsdale.

Golf wise, I ALMOST pulled out my first bogey-free round on the second day. Sadly, I ended up getting my one bogey of the day on hole 15 to finish at -3. And I was sitting in 4th place on the leaderboard.

On the last day of the tourney, I had worked my way into the second to last group. This came with a different set of nerves to battle. I knew I needed to relax and have fun more than anything. One shot at a time. After the round started, I realized my swing wasn’t as “automatic” as it was the day before. I was having to make a more conscious effort to make a steady swing. Fast forward, a few errant tee-shots that resulted into bogies ended up putting me at +2 with 3 holes left to play. My one thought to myself was to grind. Be happy and don’t give up.

Long story short, I birdied 16 and 17, and then lipped out a chip for birdie on 18.

Now, here comes the milestone moment. After posting even par on the final round, -1 for the whole tournament, and moving up to 3rd place overall…I EARNED MY FIRST PROFESSIONAL CHECK!

You know what they say, 4th time’s the charm haha!

What an awesome moment to have and even sweeter have my mom there with me when it happened. Can’t wait to keep the momentum going, and for all the possibilities going forward!

God is so, so good!
