Another Milestone in Mandeville

Another fun week on the course with another fun milestone!

There are so many things I could say about this week. First, I competed in my first Women's All Pro Tour (WAPT) event. For those who are unfamiliar, the WAPT is recognized as the "Official Qualifying Tour" for the LPGA's Epson Tour. I was also able to reconnect with several old friends that I've known through the years of playing golf, as well as making some amazing new ones! This event also offered host housing for the players, and I was blessed to stay with the best hosts in all of Mandeville! Dan and Celie were the perfect host parents and made me and the other girls feel so loved and welcomed while we were there. They even gave us a true Louisiana experience by serving crawfish and teaching us how to eat it!

Now to the golf update! All WAPT events are a 72-hole event. This means there are 4 days of play. However, there is a cut and only the top 40% of the field play the final two days. I am happy to report that I was successful in making my first professional cut! whoohoo! Making the cut also means I guaranteed making a check.:) Now, I wish I could say the final two days were easy, but they ended up being good learning opportunities for me instead haha. Although my game wasn't the best the last two days, I soaked up every second and knew I was continuing to grow. This game is such a process and it's important to remember that and to enjoy the journey. All in all, I still had so much fun each day with the girls in my group. There were lots of laughs, good shots, and encouragement towards one another. Very blessed to be competing with so many amazing girls. Also, shout out to my mom for being my loyal caddy. Couldn't thank her enough for all the time she takes out to be with me on the road!

OH! Another fun part of the week was getting to see my former teammate from junior college! Jess now plays for LSU and it worked out that we were not far from each other. On Saturday, we had an amazing brunch on the river, and spent the day catching up. Truly the sweetest day ever. Boy had I missed this sweet friend of mine!

Lastly, as I always seem to say at the end of these blogs, I am one very blessed girl. I thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to be doing what I do. I wouldn't be here without all the amazing people He has placed in my life who have helped and continue to support me. Now it's time to hit the road and travel over to Lake Charles, Louisiana for next week's event!

P.s. Happy Easter to everyone! He is risen!
